Sparks fly in this groundbreaking Pulitzer Prize winning story by Georgia native, Alfred Uhry, about a decades long relationship between a strong-willed, well-to-do Jewish woman and her black chauffeur, in the Jim Crow south. Set against a backdrop of changing world events between the late 1940s and early ‘70s, what begins as a troubled and hostile pairing soon blossoms into a profound, life-altering friendship that transcends all the societal boundaries placed between them.

Savannah Repertory TheatreSavannah Repertory Theatre is passionately dedicated to great stories…in presenting the highest quality theatrical performances to entertain and educate the diverse population of one of America’s great literary and artistic cities. SAVRep engages a diverse community, and provides insight into the human experience, while maintaining our productions to be sustainable, affordable, and professional. As a 501 (c) 3 organization, Savannah Repertory Theatre operates as a Small Professional Theatre under an agreement with the Actors’ Equity Association, the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Depending on the available roles for any given production, Savannah Rep hires both equity and non-equity career actors locally and regionally. Using our professional actors & crew as teachers, student internships, field trip performances, and other educational programming we also inform and grow the next generation. It is our goal to help bring Savannah to the forefront of the American theatrical community in both art and education.whatsup@savannahrep.org 980 Industry Drive Savannah, GA 31415
