It’s time to get started on another show! And we want YOU to be a part of it!
This is a big one y’all. The final show of our ten-show cycle that started upon our founding in 2015. Our previous show, MEASURE for MEASURE, took place in the present-day so that means the only place to go next with MACBETH is: the Future. The entire production concept will be inspired by the greatest moments and worlds in science fiction: Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, Battlestar Galactica, Dune… the list goes on!
Auditions will take place in TWO rounds. This page is for the primary auditions in August, where we will be casting the bulk of the main cast. Then, if necessary, we will be holding secondary auditions in September to fill out the rest of the supporting cast as needed. So if you’re not here for the summer, but still want to be part of the fun, look out for secondary audition info!
For the primary auditions, you MAY prepare a verse monologue from the text or any Shakespeare play if you like, but the only required audition pieces will be cold read from the text of Macbeth. We will be using the Arden edition with some cuts here and there. ALL ROLES are available.
We are especially looking for actors with cosplay, stage combat, and, of course, Shakespeare experience, but all levels of experience are welcome.
WHEN?
Sunday, August 4th 7 – 9 PM
Tuesday, August 6th 7 – 9 PM
Wednesday, August 7th 7 – 9 PM

Where?
The Loft on Liberty (Odd Lot Improv’s theater) above Savannah Coffee Roasters
Who?
Savannah Shakes, Savannah’s only Shakespeare non-profit theatre company. The production will be directed by founding Savannah Shakes member, Travis Spangenburg.

Organizer
Savannah ShakesFounded in 2015 by Sheila Lynne Bolda and Christopher Soucy, Savannah Shakes’ goal has always been to create text-focused productions that transport the Bard’s characters to new worlds. We love to explore the way four century old texts can easily shed light on the times we live in or have lived in. We take our role as Savannah’s only Shakespeare company very seriously while not taking ourselves too seriously. We are always looking for new Shakers to come and join the fun!savshakes@gmail.com
